Robot Wars' Philippa Forrester's baffles This Morning viewers with 'new accent'

This Morning fans were left feeling a little confused on today’s show when former Robot Wars host Philippa Forrester appeared on the show.

The 51-year-old presenter is currently based in Wyoming, where she has written a book about wolves in their natural environment.

Chatting with presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, Philippa opened up about the process behind the book, which was titled On the Trail of Wolves: A British Adventure in the Wild West.

However, as soon as she appeared on the screen, viewers couldn’t help but pick up on a slight American twang in her accent.

The Brit presenter rose to fame on shows such as Robot Wars and Brass Eye in the 90s, becoming a household name in the UK.

Though the mum-of-two was born in Winchester, it appeared the Wyoming-air had started to influence the way she spoke.

One Twitter user said: “Great to see Phillipa Forrester, did I notice a slight American accent?”

A second agreed: “Philippa Forrester’s accent is screwing with my teenage years.”

“What’s happened to ya accent Phillipa ? #ThisMorning you becoming…American?” added a third.

“Well she’s definitely a product of her environment… her accent has defo changed,” agreed a fourth.

Released tomorrow, On the Trail of Wolves: A British Adventure in the Wild West follows Phillipa’s move to the Grand Teton National Park.
