However, while he dished out the valuable words of wisdom, certain viewers spotted an unusual habit.

Judge Rinder offered some sage advice to one caller this morning, named Susie, who wondered: “Can my employer terminate my employment whilst I’m off?”

Susie, who falls into the “vulnerable” category during the coronavirus pandemic, feared she might see her contract change in the coming months.

Rob advised: “You are one of a number of people in this situation who are what’s called shielding.

“They can’t change your contract and they can’t just get rid of you but there are things they can do after a while which may limit your pay.”

However, if Susie’s contract were to be terminated in the future, he added: “You may have a very serious employment claim and you’ll have to get in touch with a citizens advice bureau and others who can help you.”

Reaching out to viewers, the legal expert added: “I should say it’s a good and wise idea to stay on the right side of employers by being as reasonable as you can.

“A lot of employers at this stage are struggling their way through the law as well. “

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
