Coronation Street Geoff launches sinister plan as Sally 'causes massive problem'

Coronation Street icon Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) could prove to be Geoff Metcalfe’s (Ian Bartholomew) downfall as she begins to doubt his story.

Next week, Coronation Street spoilers revealed that Geoff will get back into No6 and rushes to find his laptop to delete CCTV footage that would throw some guilt on him.

But despite his best efforts, it could be a member of his own family, Sally, that proves to be his undoing when she starts to turn against him.

Actor Ian Bartholomew said of his character Geoff: “He doesn’t want anything to contradict his side of the story.

“Any CCTV footage, incriminating or not, has to go. Then it’ his word against Yasmeen’s.”

He continued telling The Mirror: “And for months he’s been spreading the story that she’s not a well woman, is she?”

The footage would show police that he provoked Yasmeen’s attack, throwing food at her and threatening her with a knife.

Next week, Geoff’s escort secret comes out and he admits that he used prostitutes because Yasmeen wouldn’t have sex with him.

His admission disgusts Sally, who is already suspicious of him, which “causes a massive problem for him”.

Ian said: “Over time, he learns that she [doubts him], so this causes a massive problem for him concerning Tim and the possibility that he might start to suspect that his dad is not what he appears to be.”

Geoff will act “ashamed” of his past with prostitutes, however that’s all it is – an act.

Ian said: “Privately, I don’t think he has any shame or embarrassment about seeing escorts whatsoever.

“His feeling is he is a man who has needs, and the escorts take care of those needs for him.”

Geoff’s son Tim (Joe Duttine) could be set to go against wife Sally, as his opinion on the escort bombshell is very different.

He believes it can only be a good thing, with the confession giving Yasmeen a motive to attack Geoff.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV
