Lady Gaga and Elton John are set to take on the charts together this weekend thanks to the release of her new album Chromatica which includes dance-floor smash Sine From Above.
The music legends’ teamed up with Swedish House Mafia producer Axwell for the base thumping track.
Despite their close friendship of over a decade, it is the first official track they will have released together.
In newly unearthed quotes from 2014, Gaga credited Elton, who has been sober for just under 30 years, for “saving” her after she turned to alcohol and drugs.
Speaking frankly on stage in Sheffield as part of her Artpop Ball tour, Gaga explained how Elton’s intervention helped put her on the straight and narrow.

Explaining how the Rocketman singer saved her, Gaga, who is godmother to Elton and David Furnish’s son Elijah, said: “It’s pretty messed up being friends with people who used to have drug and alcohol problems, like Elton.
“He got me on the straight and narrow. He was telling me: ‘Gaga, you’re smoking too much.’ He saved me.”
Recalling how she hit rock bottom when she passed out at her best friend Bo O’Connor’s wedding, Gaga said: “I’ve been friends with Bo for 20 years but when she got married I was her maid of honour.
“I was going through a really hard time and I was high and I was f***ed up throughout her whole wedding.

“For the rehearsals, for the planning, for the day — and I look back on that day and I remember it, but I’m really sorry I was f***ed up at her wedding because she deserved a sober maid of honour.”
She continued: “I got drunk and fell asleep on the front lawn throughout the ceremony.
“That was a special time — you do f***ing stupid s*** when you’re f***ed up.
“It’s like you have no sense of reason. I was even wearing Versace. I’m sorry for that, too.
“I can laugh about it now but it was f***ed up for a little while.”

Elton previously revealed how his biggest regret in life is taking drugs.
He told CBS news: “It [drug addiction] nearly destroyed my soul.
“My soul was black, like a charred piece of steak, until I said, ‘I need help.’
“Suddenly, a little pilot light in my soul came along going, ‘Yes, I’m still here. I’m still here.
“I’m still here. I can still be rescued.'”
