Robbie Williams’s wife has told of her mum’s cancer battle and the fear she could gets the coronavirus when she goes to hospital for treatment.
Ayda Field, 41, told how her mum Gwen, 70, is battling stage 2 cervical cancer on the couple’s At home with the Williamses podcast.
She revealed last year Gwen was previously diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and Lupus, an incurable immune system illness.
Ayda told how the cancer is so aggressive she is forced to go to hospital on a daily basis.
She said: “My mum in January was diagnosed with Stage 2 Cervical Cancer and it had spread outside the cervix and was a very aggressive tumour.

“So alongside her Parkinson’s and her Lupus was this cancer battle and because the cancer was so big they decided that she needed to immediately go into chemo and radiation daily and have surgery.
“When the pandemic hit it was very scary because my mum with Lupus and Parkinson’s and cancer, at 70 years old is prime for some bad things happening so she was going to the hospital every day for these treatments and I just remember every day thinking “Is she going to pick something up? Is this where it all ends?”
Robbie’s 70-year-old dad has also been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

He told The Mirror recently that he has been fighting “fear and panic” over his father’s plight and other family traumas.
Robbie, living in Los Angeles, says he has struggled in lockdown, especially with his dad, 70, being so far away.
Robbie said: “We’ve got a lot of family issues right now. My dad has got Parkinson’s, my mother-in-law who I love dearly has got a very big illness. We can’t get to them. My dad is thousands of miles away.”
