Simon Cowell's rigorous fitness plan to maintain four stone weight loss unveiled

Britain’s Got Talent boss Simon Cowell has revealed the secret behind his buff new body.

The 60-year-old music mogul does 150 push-ups every morning to keep fit after shedding four stone in a year.

On BGT: Unseen, Simon tells fellow Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden of his press-ups routine, saying: “150 times before I come to work, in about three goes.”

The X Factor guru’s health kick began after low blood pressure led him to a horror fall and a hospital trip in 2017.

Along with the gruelling push-up routine, Simon drastically altered his diet and cut out the bad stuff.

The dad of one told The Sun that he’d gone vegan in a bid to get leaner.

Simon was so keen on getting healthier he cut out meat, dairy, wheat and sugar.

He said: “A friend of mine, who is a doctor, recommended speaking to an expert, and I did it on a whim.

“I was allergic to melon, so I didn’t eat it for six months, but I saw this man and he explained it and it made sense.

“Within 24 hours I changed my diet and I’ve not looked back since. You feel better, you look better.

“I cut out a lot of the stuff I shouldn’t have been eating and that was primarily meat, dairy, wheat, sugar — those were the four main things.”

Simon recently revealed he’d managed to lose four stone in total and said he never felt better.

However, the telly judge did admit he is struggling in lockdown and found it hard when his six-year-old son Eric wanted to eat pizza.

He added: “I’m doing a bit of cooking. I’m exercising. Funny enough, more during this time as well, sticking to the diet.

“The only difficult thing is when Eric orders a pizza, that’s the number one thing I miss.”

Simon and his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges Amanda, Alesha Dixon and David Williams will be back on our screens tonight for the last round of the audition stage of the ITV talent contest.

According to The Sun, the ITV show is planning to air its semi finals in September, just as the BBC dance hit Strictly Come Dancing launches its latest series.

BGT has been forced to delay the live shows until later in the year because of coronavirus, despite the auditions finishing this weekend, but bosses hope that by the autumn they will have a live audience with the judges.

Britain’s Got Talent continues on ITV tonight at 7pm
