Coronation Street fans fume as Sally 'ruins' Yasmeen's case against evil Geoff

Coronation Street favourite Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) put her foot in it during tonight’s visit to Weatherfield.

Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) came clean to his son Tim (Joe Duttine) and daughter-in-law Sally over his use of an escort agency this evening.

Viewers have seen Geoff’s wife Yasmeen (Shelley King) confide in her granddaughter Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) about the scheming pensioner’s infidelity throughout their rocky marriage.

Alya passed on the shocking news to Sally, who was disgusted by what she heard about her father-in-law.

Sally Metcalfe made a major mistake during tonight’s visit to Coronation Street

During this evening instalment of the ITV soap, Geoff realised that the truth was likely to come out in court, so admitted that Alya was not lying about about his use of an escort agency.

While Sally was left appalled by Geoff, a quick-thinking Tim pointed out that this gave an innocent Yasmeen a motive for wanting to hurt him.

On Tim’s advice, Geoff went to the police to reveal the “truth” with hope it will strengthen the attempted murder case against Yasmeen.

Later, Alya was horrified when she heard what has happened, fearing that she has played right into Geoff’s hands by confiding in Sally.

ITV viewers rushed to the keyboard concerned that Sally has ruined Yasmeen’s chances against Geoff in court.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Big mouth Sally again.”

Another added: “Sally put her foot in it now.”

A third said: “Oh Sally you f***ing moron.”

A fourth agreed: “Silly Sally.”

An upset Alya felt even worse when she paid another visit to Yasmeen, who revealed that she contracted an STI due to Geoff’s actions.

Alya tried once again to convince Yasmeen to expose the truth about Geoff in court, but will her grandmother listen?

A tormented Yasmeen fought back last month at Geoff after months of abuse from her controlling husband.

Her bullying and manipulative partner forced her to wear a dress he had bought for one of his escorts to meet family in the Rovers Return before taunting her back her home, brandishing a knife.

Yasmeen now faces 15 years in prison for stabbing him with a wine bottle.

Will Yasmeen finally get justice in court?

Coronation Street continues on Monday on ITV at 7.30pm
