Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow contestants forced to wait over one year for prizes

Contestants on Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow face a wait of more than a year for their prizes.

The Chatty Man star has revived hit shows such as The Price Is Right, Strike It Lucky and Take Your Pick for a new ITV series.

Top prizes for lucky winners include holidays to luxury resorts in Spain.

However, under TV guidelines, contestants often have to wait until their show airs before they receive their booty.

But ITV has waited until now to broadcast the series.

However, having waited more than 10 months already to claim holiday prizes, the winners now face even more months of misery.

Due to travel restrictions, they can’t jet off to sunny climes.

A source said: “Most of Alan’s game shows offered vacations in sunny resorts as prizes. Sadly no one has had a chance to go on one yet.”

Last night a show spokeswoman said: “Due to the current restrictions in place, any prizes that involve travelling have been postponed until it is safe to do so.”

With seven special episodes, ITV commissioned the series last year, bagging funnyman Alan Carr as the charismatic host.

At the time, Joe Mace, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV said: “We are really excited to bring these brilliant shows back to primetime with Alan Carr, they are the perfect match and we can’t wait for the audiences to fall in love with both.”

Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow: The Price Is Right airs tonight on ITV at 7.30pm.
