Susanna Reid apologises to Piers Morgan after Good Morning Britain blunder

TV presenter Susanna Reid apologised to her co-tar Piers Morgan on today’s Good Morning Britain after the pair suffered an on-air blunder.

The 49-year-old television presenter said sorry to Piers, 55, after she accidentally spoke over him during a studio link.

She began to read the time as Piers also spoke, leaving the pair forced to stop and start the link again.

Susanna said: “Sorry Piers” while Piers assured her it was okay and they continued with the job at hand of hosting GMB.

Also on today’s episode of the ITV show, Piers accused Susanna of “fat shaming” him.

They were discussing how Piers’ local McDonald’s had once again opened, much to the delight of the television presenter.

He said: “Very quickly, I know you’ve all been worried, but finally the wait was over.

“Here we are, Wandsworth Bridge McDonalds drive-through at the weekend, boom.

“Big Mac, large fries. Tasted delicious, first one in four months.”

Susanna made a cheeky jibe at Piers after he shared his news, jokingly saying: “Thanks so much for putting us all out of our misery, not so much that the wait was over as the weight was piled on apparently…”

Piers shot back, remarking: “Thank you again for fat shaming me.”

This isn’t the first time Piers has accused Susanna of “fat shaming” as in an episode in September last year, he claimed she did it “on a weekly basis”.

As Susanna said fat-shaming was wrong, Piers hit back, saying: “You do it to me on a weekly basis, you literally do it to me all the time.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
