Emmerdale's Paul 'to die' as fans work out devastating coronavirus twist

Emmerdale fans suspected Paul’s days were numbered after tonight’s episode, when Vinny revealed Paul was in the hospital.

It later turned out the mystery newcomer, played by Reece Dinsdale, was in full health, working at the hospital to deliver much-needed supplies.

Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) asked: “Why is he in the hospital?”

Vinny replied: “He’s working, delivering supplies. He’s volunteering as a porter.”

Branding his dad as a “hero,” Vinny was delighted his father was doing his part in helping others during the pandemic.

However, over on Twitter, viewers had a bad feeling about the news, and suspected Paul could contract coronavirus in upcoming scenes.

One said: “OMG Paul’s at Hospital? Could he actually have the virus for real?”

A second agreed: “I bet he dies of Covid-19!”

While a third chimed: “If the dad dies it’s not really much of a loss, he’s been in the show about five weeks..”

Later, Mandy revealed a heartbreaking secret about her past, opening up about a miscarriage she suffered during Vinny’s childhood.

Mandy finally opened up about her relationship with Paul

Remembering her toxic relationship with Paul, she said: “After he left, I found out I was pregnant.

“But that wasn’t meant to be either. You were in bed, asleep. It was bad.”

Through her tears, she added: “I’m the jigsaw with missing pieces.”

Mandy explained that she suffered a miscarriage several years ago

Finally understanding Mandy’s anger towards Paul, Vinny was quick to comfort her, branding her as his “real mum”.

Mandy added: “Don’t you ever think you are not enough.

“Because you are my world, and you are all that matters.”

Emmerdale airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday at 7pm on ITV.
