Rebel Wilson gushes over This Country's Daisy May Cooper after bingeing series

Rebel Wilson has gushed over This Country star Daisy May Cooper – admitting she’s binged the series in lockdown.

The Pitch Perfect actress spoke to us as she launches new Amazon Prime Show LOL: Last One Laughing.

The series sees ten professional Australian comedians locked together in a house challenged with the task of making all of the other comedians laugh while keeping a straight face themselves.

The last one to laugh is the winner, taking home the title of Last One Laughing, along with the comedic street cred and a $100,000 (£55,000) cash prize.

When talking about UK comedians she’d like to see on the show if it ever came over here, Rebel, 40, said Daisy May Cooper is one of her top choices.

She told us: “I just recently found her show in lockdown, I hadn’t seen it before and I just think she’s the most hysterical person out there.

“I watched This Country in lockdown – all three seasons in like two days, I was loving it.”

Rebel also admitted she’s been loving Daisy May Cooper’s hilarious TikTok videos which see her perform interpretive dances to TV theme tunes.

She exclaimed: “She’s hilarious. She wears this one little mermaid T-shirt and I’m like ‘You’re featuring that T-shirt with no bra a lot’.”

This Country sees creators Daisy May and Charlie Cooper introduce a documentary-style comedy about the lives and experiences of young people in modern, rural Britain as they follow cousins Kerry and Lee ‘Kurtan’ Mucklowe.

Unfortunately for fans of the BBC show, it was announced back in March that there won’t be a series four.

As well as This Country, Rebel also said that Ricky Gervais’ After Life has been keeping her entertained during lockdown.

She told us: “I watched Ricky Gervais’ After Life but weirdly I cried through most of that, I thought it was very touching.

“I was literally crying every episode, there were some very tender moments I just really thought were brilliant.”
