Kate Garraway breaks social media silence to send Eamonn Holmes sweet message

Kate Garraway has broken her social media silence after keeping off her accounts while her husband battles Covid-19.

The Good Morning Britain presenter’s husband Derek Draper was rushed into hospital almost 14 weeks ago and has been months fighting for his life in intensive care after he was diagnosed with coronavirus.

The 53-year-old ITV star, who starred in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! last year has appeared on TV to give updates on Derek but has kept off Twitter and Instagram.

Until today when she broke her silence to send a sweet message to her pal Eamonn Holmes.

Eamon, who presents This Morning with his wife Ruth Langsford, uploaded a snap of his daughter Rebecca as he wished her a happy birthday.

Kate then took to the comments section to show her love towards the family.

The journalist simply commented a series of red love heart emojis under the snap of Rebecca to show she was still thinking of others during her darkest hours.

Back in March, the father-of-two was placed into a coma days after being admitted into hospital as his condition deteriorated on March 30.

Derek has now being taken out of his induced coma but remains unresponsive.

The latest update on Derek’s health was from Kate’s colleague Piers Morgan as he opened up on his friend’s fears that her husband “may never come home”.

The GMB host spoke about Kate and Derek’s plans to renew their vows in his latest Daily Mail column after Derek proposed to her in Australia following her stint on the UK’s I’m A Celebrity.

Piers said in his Mail column: “Now, agonisingly, Kate doesn’t even know if she will ever get Derek home again, let alone to renew those vows.

“It’s unbearably, gut-wrenchingly sad.”
