GMB Piers Morgan brands Matt Hancock an 'over inflated prefect' in furious rant

Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan returned from his weekend off with a bang – wasting no time in savaging the government’s Heath Secretary Matt Hancock.

The outspoken ITV presenter branded Hancock an ‘over inflated prefect’ who is risking the health of the nation.

Never one to hold his tongue, Piers let rip after seeing Hancock break his own social distancing rules to pat a colleague on the back while in the House of Commons last week.

Piers raged: “He appears like an over inflated prefect at the daily briefings telling us what to do.

“If he is doing this in for to the camera in the House of Commons then what is he doing when there are no cameras.

“People look at that think well it cant be that bad then I can do it.”

As Dr Hilary tried to play devil’s advocate and explain that is is easy to forget and government ministers are working around the clock Piers interrupted: “I don’t want to hear it.

“I don’t want to hear he is working hard.

“I would hope they are putting a shift in – it is the worst pandemic in a generation.”

Shutting down claims that anyone who criticised the government is somehow anti-Brexit, Piers then fumed: “I’ve seen this a lot on Twitter.

“Any criticism of this government has nothing to do with Brexit.”

He added: “There is no link. It is tribalism.

“It is frightening the level of ignorance here.”
