Stormzy revealed that he had “hysterically cried for an hour” after thinking his headline performance at Glastonbury had been a total failure.
Looking back, the rapper opened up about the moment he’d come off the stage, believing his entire show had been completely let down by a sound issue.
After his performance on the iconic Pyramid Stage in 2019, the artist revealed how he had broke down into “hysterics”.
Unbeknownst to his fans, the star had carried out his show stopping performance with no sound in his earpiece at all, after suffering a technical glitch 20 minutes in.
Recalling the moment, he said: “When I walked offstage, I thought I’d f***** it.”

The rapper actually received huge praise, also making it into the history books for being the first solo and black British artist to headline at the legendary festival.
In a tell all interview with Q Magazine, he said: “So I had no sound for the whole thing. It was the most difficult thing I’ve ever done.”
The Vossi Bop hitmaker thought he’d blown his big moment in front of thousands of adoring fans on one of the most iconic stages on the planet.

He continued: “When I walked offstage, I thought I’d f***** it.
“I thought it was the worst thing I’d ever done.
“I came offstage and thought I’d totally, absolutely blown it.
“I was crying for, like, an hour. I was in hysterics.”
Organisers of the show had a tough job convincing Stormzy that the glitch had actually gone unnoticed and somehow he’d managed to disguise the technical mishap.
Quickly showing him a snippet of his performance, they urged the star to see what everyone else had watched.
He added: “I thought I’d f***** it up. Heartbroken, man. Heartbroken.
“Then after calming down for an hour, some of the people at the festival, Emily Eavis [co-organiser] and that, gave us a memory stick to watch it back.
“And I got about halfway through and I was, like, ‘S**t, I think it all went alright.'”
