Real Housewives star claims show edited her to 'look like angry black woman'

Magali Gorre was often at the centre of feuds during her appearance on the Real Housewives of Cheshire, getting into arguments with cast members such as Leanne Brown and Dawn Ward.

The wife of football legend Dean Gorre has now hit out at the programme, claiming she was edited to portray her as an “angry black woman”.

Magali starred in the first two seasons before making the decision to take a step back in order to spend time with her family following the death of her father.

She later returned for a one-off special, celebrating the shows 100th episode alongside original cast members.

Now, she says she would be happy to return in a bid to represent women of colour.

The author and businesswoman believes the show was a platform which allowed her to stand up for herself while representing black women.

“I was labelled as a black angry woman.

“The way I was edited and the way they protected certain people.

“The scenes they showed, I look like I’m trouble but I’ll tell you when I’m not happy,” she told the Manchester Evening News.

Magali, who was known for her catchphrase: “When you cross me, you better don’t cross me. Don’t mess with Magali,” went on to say: “I represented black women and I’ve been asked by fans ‘please come back because you represent us’.”

Currently, the line up consists of Seema Malhotra, Tanya Bardsley, Dawn Ward, Ester Lugo and newbie Nicole Sealey.

Magali added that she believes the show should have more women of colour making up the cast.

The mum-of-three recently attended a Black Lives Matter protest in Manchester, saying: “I needed to be there.

“You can’t murder someone because of their colour,” following the murder of George Floyd in America.
