Inbetweeners' James Buckley 'makes £100k in lockdown' by filming videos for fans

The Inbetweeners star James Buckley has joined the long list of out of work celebrities who are making personalised videos for fans in return for a hefty fee.

The 32-year-old actor has reportedly made a jaw-dropping £100,00 over the last three months during coronavirus lockdown by filming messages for fans via website Cameo.

The site allows fans to pay for personalised messages from their favourite showbiz star, but it comes at a price.

James, who is best known for playing Jay in The Inbetweeners, has become the latest famous face to sign up to the platform.

Cameo allows fans to fill out a form with their requests for a minute-long clip rom their chosen celebrity.

According to The Sunday Times, Comedy star James has filmed over 3,500 videos using the site, charging £41.50 per clip.

James revealed to fans that he was in it for the cash on his profile.

“Now, I get asked a load of times to do video messages for people, and I could never be bothered to do it until I found out that there was a way that I could do it for money,” he said.

The television star cheekily penned: “So if you want me to congratulate your brother’s birthday or maybe hurl some abuse at a friend of yours who’s getting married or something like that – I can do that all for you now, for a fee.

“Again, here for the money.”

To make sure his fans get their value for money, James also adds some of his iconic lines from The Inbetweeners during his video message.

James isn’t the only celebrity who appears to be raking in the cash by recording short videos for fans while in lockdown.

Cameo has seen a surge of celeb sign-ups in the months since lock down begun, with 77 per cent more actors, athletes, musicians and comedians now at your disposal.

Demand for videos has also increased from 9,000 a week to a whopping 75,000. reports The Sunday Times.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans can get a video from reality star Caitlyn Jenner for a jaw-dropping £2,075.

A message from Harry Potter actress Miriam Margoyles will set you back £83 while Lord Of The Rings star Elijah Wood charges £186 per clip.

Cameo features a wide range of prices, at the low end EastEnders’ star John Partridge and Nigel Havers who will film a personalised message for £17 and £20 respectively, to middle-range Harry Potter actor Tom Felton at £185 per clip.

Those valuing themselves at a much higher rate include Made In Chelsea star Francis Boulle, charging £850 per clip, and former footballer Vinnie Jones who will record you a special video for £250.
