This Morning's Phillip Schofield 'throws major strop' before going live on-air

This Morning was back on our screens on Thursday but host Phillip Schofield was not happy.

The 57-year-old presenter was joined in the studio by co-star Holly Willoughby for the latest addition of the ITV daytime show.

The show got off to an unusual start today as Phillip and Holly were seen in fits of giggles.

Greeting viewers with a warm smile, a laughing Holly said: “Morning.”

Phillip added: “Hiya and welcome to your Thursday’s This Morning. I’m just kicking off. Everything is going wrong.”

Phillip Schofield told This Morning fans he was not happy today

Holly, 39, explained: “If you heard us a few seconds before we went on air Phil was actually screaming.

“What’s the matter?”

Phillip added: “If you have followed this show for a long time you will know years ago I had my eyes lasered and they have been incredible.

“I’ve got one distance eye and one reading eye but since Christmas the reading eye is slipping and I want to have them lasered again.

The presenter explained to Holly about his off-air strop

“I was just telling Holly that I want the laser surgery again but the place isn’t open.”

Holly advised her pal: “Just put your specs on. I like glasses.”

Phillip moaned: “I can’t do it. I don’t want to.”

The blonde beauty replied: “We’ll all agree if you can’t read something today it’s fine. We’ll ignore it and let it go

Phillip admitted he wants his eye laser surgery again

“I mean its integral to your job to read”

Phillip went on to explain that he could read the auto cue but not the paper script.

Holly joked: “Don’t worry about that. I never read it.”

The dynamic duo continued to giggle their way through the introduction before kicking off the show.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am
