Leigh-Anne Pinnock breaks down in tears after being verbally abused in Waitrose

Leigh-Anne Pinnock has revealed she was left in tears after she was verbally abused during a shopping trip in Waitrose.

In the now-deleted post, which was uploaded on Little Mix ’s officially Twitter page, the singer recalled the incident, in which she was accosted by a customer in the shop.

She explained the staff showed her kindness and helped her following the verbal attack.

Speaking in the video, Leigh-Anne explained: “I was left in shock and completely taken back that someone could be so rude to someone for no reason.

“Despite this ordeal, the staff at Waitrose Sunningdale ran to my defence showing great kindness and care.”

She added: “They demonstrated that every act of wrongfulness unleashes a million acts of kindness and sent me home with these beautiful flowers.

“I was a blubbering mess by the time I left the shop but I just wanted to say thank you.”

The clip comes days after the Touch hitmaker admitted she “doesn’t care” if she loses fans for talking about racism.

During an appearance on This Morning earlier this month, Leigh-Anne explained she will continue to talk about race.

“This is something you can’t ignore,” she began.

“I don’t care how much I preach about this, I don’t care how much I say, because this is my reality and so many other people’s reality and what’s the point in even going on if we can’t get a change?

“I’m not going to just sit here and not say anything. I don’t care if I lose fans and I already know that some people who have posted have lost a lot of fans and I just think it’s disgusting, but it just proves what we’re saying.”

Leigh-Anne drew praise after she previously opened up about her own experiences, revealing she has often felt like “the least favoured” member of Little Mix because of her race.
