This Morning's Alice Beer forced to apologise after Phil and Holly spot mistake

This Morning presenter Alice Beer was forced to apologise on today’s show when Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby spotted a hilarious mistake.

The 55-year-old broadcaster appeared via video call from her native Wiltshire, discussing Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak’s announcement yesterday.

Chatting outside a property, Alice started filling viewers in on the number of savings to be made following the unveiling of the chancellor’s £30 billion plan to save jobs.

However, she made a hilarious slip up as she described the VAT reduction in the hospitality industry, as she fumbled her numbers.

Instead of saying an average dinner would cost £45, she claimed a meal in a restaurant would amount to £45,000.

Their jaws dropping, Phil and Holly shrieked in shock, as they exclaimed: “Where did you go?”

Realising her mistake, Alice started laughing, and apologised by saying: “That was a Nando’s!”

Over on Twitter, viewers were left in stitches over the blunder, as one laughed: “£45000 for a meal god where did she go…”

And a second added: “That’s what I thought, where had Alice been eating.”

However, moments later, the ITV star made yet another hilarious blunder, as she managed to slam the door in the camera man’s face.

Walking into a two-bed house, Alice tried to demonstrate the changing prices in the property market, only to forget to hold the door open for the camera crew.

With the cameraman locked outside, she suddenly panicked and ran over to the door, saying: “Sorry Andy I shut the door on you…Sorry, Andy.”

Holly and Phillip were doubled over in laughter back in the studios, as Alice conceded it was just “one of those moments”.

This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
