Naya Rivera's heartbroken ex comforts their son, 4, after Glee star goes missing

Naya Rivera ‘s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey has been pictured with their son, Josey, a day after the Glee actress vanished from a California lake.

On Wednesday afternoon, the American star rented a pontoon boat with her four-year-old son on California’s Lake Piru, but three hours later, a person, who was also on the water, raised the alarm after seeing Josey asleep alone on the vessel.

24 hours later, Ryan Dorsey was seen carrying Josey in his arms in pictures circulating online as they left the home of Naya’s sister, model Nickayla Rivera in Valencia, California on Thursday.

Dressed in a cap and all-black attire, the 36-year-old made his way to the car with his son after it was reported he had “no idea” Naya and Josey were heading out on the water together.

Naya and Ryan, who share joint custody of their child, wed in 2014, and four years later they finalised their divorce.

Dorsey’s housemate in Los Angeles told DailyMail.com that Naya hadn’t been in contact with Ryan.

The housemate, who asked not to be named, said: “Ryan headed up there as soon as their son was found to look after him. He was gone by the time I got home Wednesday. “

He added: “Naya has been in LA working but I don’t know where she has been living. None of us know any more than what is being reported at this time.

“Naya hadn’t been in contact with him. She didn’t tell him what she was doing. He had no idea. It’s a horrible circumstance and we’re hoping for the best.”

A search operation was conducted after the alarm was raised, but now emergency teams said the effort to find her has now been classed as a “search and recovery operation”.

A Ventura County Sheriff spokesman said: “If the body is entangled on something beneath the water, it may never come back up.

“There’s no way to really say. We’re putting our best foot forward to try and locate her, we’re using all the assets that are available to us including technology like sonar.”

The search resumed at first light on Thursday, and over 100 rescuers including a diving team along with helicopters are continuing to scour the water in a bid to locate Naya.
