Eamonn Holmes sparks Iain Stirling & Laura Whitmore marriage rumours on ITV

During Wednesday’s episode of This Morning, hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes spoke to Love Island narrator Iain Stirling about three special shows coming up and how he’s enjoying lockdown with girlfriend Laura Whitmore.

As the segment opened up, the famous Love Island text tone was heard, with Eamonn lifting his phone and saying he’d got a message from Laura.

Ruth asked him what it said but he refused, saying that her “husband” Iain was about to be on the show.

It’s reported that Iain and Laura did get engaged earlier this year in South Africa, however there has been nothing revealed about a potential wedding.

Viewers noticed Eamonn’s wording, with one tweeting: “That’s the second time Eamonn has said Laura and Iain are married… confusion or has he forgotten it’s private?”

They added: “I feel like Iain didn’t correct him because he didn’t want to bring it up and for it to be awkward.”

Eamonn then quizzed Iain about how lockdown had been with Laura.

He said: “We’re enjoying it. Obviously it comes with pressure and strains when you’re in a house together a lot of time.

“I think we’ve really enjoyed spending time together and what it has done is, we’ve realise your work-life balance and having that time to spend with each other, not having to rush off, can strengthen things.”

Iain reportedly asked Laura to marry him after this year’s winter Love Island series wrapped, with a yellow diamond ring.

A friend reportedly told The Sun: “They couldn’t be happier. We’re thrilled for them.

“He’d obviously thought about it for a while, as he designed the ring and yellow’s her favourite colour.

“Their wedding plans are on hold due to the lockdown but it’s lovely to have a wedding to come.”

Laura and Iain started dating back in July 2017, before they starred on Love Island together.

They moved in together in June 2018.

More recently, they gave fans a glimpse into their home life when they joined the cast of Celebrity Gogglebox.

Iain’s main reason for being on This Morning was to plug Love Island.

The show returns tonight with Love Island: All The Dramz, while All The Feelz and All The Lolz will air Thursday and Friday at 9pm on ITV2.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
