Johnny Depp's multi-million divorce terms from Amber Heard laid bare in court

Johnny Depp’s multi-million divorce deal with actress Amber Heard has been laid bare for all to see during day eight of the actor’s libel trial against The Sun newspaper.

Johnny’s lawyer David Sherborne outlined the terms of Depp’s divorce from Heard at London’s High Court on Thursday.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor paid Heard $7million (£5.5million) as well as her $525,000 (£418,000) legal costs.

Depp also wrote of “liabilities” incurred during their marriage.

While it is not clear what said “liabilities” include, Depp’s accountant said they total “several millions of dollars”.

Sasha Wass QC, acting on behalf of the publishers of The Sun have said Depp earned $60m in the tax year of the marriage.

Earlier this week on day five of the trial, Depp told the court how he had lot $700million (£595million) after his business managers failed to pay his taxes for almost two decades.

The Hollywood actor recalled a meeting in April 2016 he had a meeting with his former business managers which went ‘bad’.

Revealing the full extent of his staggering wealth, Johnny explained how he had lost a ‘huge amount’ of money.

Probed as to how much, Johnny replied: “It was put to me this way.

“It was put to me since Pirates [of the Caribbean] II and III I had made – and it seems a ludicrous number – $650million (£515million).

“When I fired them for the right reasons I had not only lost the $650m but I was $100m (£79m) in the hole because they had not paid the government my taxes for 17 years.”

Depp added: “It was a bad meeting.”

Johnny’s financial revelations come during a three week High Court showdown against The Sun.

Depp is suing the publication for libel after they branded him a ‘wife beater’ in a comment piece.

Depp’s ex wife Amber Heard is also appearing in the courts as a key witness for the defence.

Johnny categorically denies claims that he was physically violent to Heard during their relationship.

Heard claims Depp was violent towards her 14 times.
