Joe Swash backlash over bizarre comment as James Jordan announces dad has cancer

Joe Swash ended up in hot water when he wrote a bizarre comment on James Jordan ‘s post regarding his father’s terminal cancer diagnosis.

Former Strictly pro James, 42, took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share the heartbreaking news with fans about his dad’s health condition.

James explained that his father has a tumour, which is an “aggressive cancerous one and is terminal” and will be lucky to “live another year”.

He’d written the emotional lengthy caption alongside a sweet video of his dad playing with his and wife Ola’s cheery five-month-old daughter Ella.

But former EastEnders star and Stacey Solomon’s partner Joe seemingly glossed over James’ devastating note, and wrote: “This vid is amazing!! It’s so good to see your dad doing better xxxxx”.

His tone deaf comment was quickly called out by numerous social media users.

One hit back: “His dad isn’t ‘doing better’ he has just been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour. Read the post properly….”

“You really need to read the post by James. His dad has terminal cancer,” another wrote.

The former Strictly pro admitted he had ‘tears streaming down his face’ following the diagnosis (Image: jamesjordan/Instagram)

Earlier this year, doctors initially diagnosed James’ dad with a stroke after he was suffering seizures, but it was actually a sign of an aggressive brain tumour.

He explained: “We were told several times that 100% he had had a stroke and that’s why they were struggling to control his seizures… but after the 3rd time of being admitted to hospital I knew something was not quite right.

“It was what I had dreaded, my dad has a tumour and after having a biopsy it’s come back that it’s an aggressive cancerous one. The worst kind unfortunately.

“We have been told that it’s not advisable to operate because of where the tumour is and wouldn’t actually make that much difference even if they could.

“The end result is, it’s terminal, and they are saying with chemotherapy and radiotherapy we might be lucky and get a year with him.”
