News anchor loses front tooth during live report and carries on like a pro

A news presenter fought through her pain when she calmly completed her live broadcast despite her front tooth falling out.

News anchor Marichka Padalko, from Ukraine, was delivering the daily news bulletin on broadcast station TSN when her tooth slipped from her mouth.

Instead of stopping to treat her tooth, she calmly lifts her hand up to catch it and continue her report.

The gap of her missing tooth remains visible on camera but Marichka maintains her professionalism throughout the broadcast.

The 44-year-old thought the embarrassing blunder would go unnoticed but eagle-eyed viewers have captured and posted it on social media.

She later shared it on Instagram and said: “Honestly, I thought the incident would go unnoticed, but we underestimated the attention of our viewers.

The mother of three explained that the broken tooth resulted from an accident with her daughter more than 10 years ago.

She wrote: “I had a heavy metal alarm clock in my bedroom and one time my little daughter grabbed it and started swinging it around while I was sleeping.

“It hit half of my tooth when I was yawning in the bed.”

Marichka had followed her dentist’s advice to avoid biting on hard food with her front tooth, but she forgot to keep that routine until the end of her treatment.

Due to it being loosened by the accident, she has now decided to find a permanent fix.

Marichka was praised by her colleagues and viewers of her professionalism. One colleague told her: “You reacted as if you lost your teeth every day.”

“She continued with dignity,” another co-worker commented.
