MTV True Life star Charlie Balducci dies 'unexpectedly' aged 44

MTV’s True Life star Charlie Balducci has died.

The 44-year-old, who found fame on the MTV reality show, was reportedly found unresponsive in his bed on Saturday.

TMZ reported the reality star was last seen at around 2am on Saturday, adding that law enforcement found him unresponsive in his bed at around 9pm.

Paramedics quickly rushed to the scene, but Balducci was pronounced dead.

Balducci’s mum told the US publication that her son had died unexpectedly as he didn’t have any kind of illness.

She reportedly added that the last thing he told her was that he was happy to have his sons, who are aged 19 and 17.

Balducci is survived by his ex-wife, Sabrina, and his two sons.

Sabrina and Charlie were one of the first ever stars of the MTV hit reality show, with cameras filming the couple in the run-up to their wedding for True Life: I’m Getting Married in 2001.

The episode included one of the most infamous rows ever filmed on reality television, as Charlie was left raging when the limo driver was running late.

He said in the fiery on-air moment: “I will gut you like the piece of s**t you are” and “I’ll hunt you down like cattle”.

After the well-known outburst, Charlie explained in an interview that he blamed his rage on his Staten Island heritage.

He said: “In defence of myself, I really did what any Staten Islander would have done in that situation.”

Charlie added that the reality show was a great set up for married life.

He said: “If you guys can’t plan a wedding together, you got to start to look at the marriage.”

The couple were married for more than 10 years.
