The son of Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb has opened up about his past addiction to cocaine, recalling he resorted to eating out of dumpsters.
Stephen, who is the son of the music legend, told on his podcast how he was left homeless after the class A drug ruined his life and left him with nowhere to live.
The 46-year-old, who also works in music himself, opened up on the dark period of his life – which he has now left in the past.
Opening up on Addiction Talks he told listeners about how he would even eat out of bins and hope no one caught him in the act.

On the podcast, he said: “The first time I drank I was probably 14 and I downed an entire bottle of Jack Daniels and blacked out.”
He continued: “After I lost my gig with my band I was homeless, they throw away so much good food in studios and I remember eating out of the dumpster at the record plant praying nobody would see me.
“I remember thinking ‘This sucks’.
“I was living in my van or wherever I could land. If somebody let me crash on a couch I was fortunate.”

He went on: “The thing for me that was mind blowing was the old saying, from Park Avenue to park bench.”
Stephen continued: “There were many times in the past I would engage in some sort of stimulant, whether it be cocaine or meth amphetamine…
“The simplest, most mundane things would become kind of a spark that would light a fire of pure terror.”
Thankfully, Stephen picked himself up and came off the drugs and booze to go on tour with his dad.

Barry, 73, who is a British legend, is the last surviving member of the three-membered band which he formed with his two brothers.
His brother Maurice died suddenly in January 2003 from a twisted intestine with Barry and his twin Robin by his side.
Robin passed away nine years later in 2012, aged 62, after a long battle with cancer.
The band also had a brother called Andy, who was not a member of their group but was a solo artist in his own right.
He tragically died at just 30 due to inflammation of the heart.
