Leah Remini claims Tom Cruise's 'nice guy' image is 'b******t'

Former Scientologist Leah Remini has claimed that Tom Cruise’s “nice guy” image is “Hollywood b******t” in a jaw-dropping interview.

The 50-year-old actress’ remarks came after Westworld actor Thandie Newton shared an anecdote about being “scared” of Cruise while filming Mission Impossible 2.

Leah accused the Church of Scientology of controlling Cruise’s public image, telling The Daily Beast: “Tom has gotten away with being this ‘nice guy’ because that’s what Scientology policy says – to create good PR in the world and make those ‘good actions’ known.

“But if you actually look at his actions, they’re not consistent.”

In the interview, Leah also claimed that she “got in trouble” for questioning Cruise’s behaviour while speaking to other Scientologists.

The King of Queens star explained: “When I was in Scientology I got in trouble in Scientology for saying, ‘Why is this guy the poster child for Scientology? He can’t keep a f***in’ marriage together, he’s jumping on couches, he’s acting like he knows anything about postpartum.’

“I learned pretty quickly that that’s not something you should be doing, because Tom Cruise is considered a messiah in Scientology.”

The actress continued: “This is a man who has not even seen his own daughter in years. That this guy can be running around and having people think he’s this super-nice guy, I don’t get it. But that’s the Hollywood-b******t game people play.”

Leah has a new podcast, Scientology: Fair Game, which discusses Scientology’s alleged practice of using intimidation to silence its critics.

Her new podcast sees her team up with former Scientology spokesman and senior executive Mike Rinder.

Remini is now one of Scientology’s most outspoken critics after she left the organisation in 2013 after being a member for 34 years.

Her mother, actor husband Angelo Pagan and their daughter Sofia also left shortly after she made her departure from the controversial religious movement.

Daily Star Online has contacted representatives of the Church of Scientology for comment.
