Roman Kemp is to take a break from his presenting role on Capital FM’s famous Breakfast Show following the death of a close friend.
Viewers were left perplexed earlier today when Roman, 27, along with fellow presenters Sian Welby and Sonny Jay abruptly came off the air during a live show.
Now, it has been revealed that the group were being informed that an individual they had previously worked with had died.
A source close to Roman, Sonny and Sian told The Sun: “Roman and his colleagues are in complete shock, they can’t believe someone they were all close to is gone.

“They’ve all been left completely shattered by the upsetting news and are taking some time to grieve and digest the tragedy.
“It’s a tough time for them all right now.”
Shortly after coming off the air, listeners took to social media to ask what had happened as Roman vanished during an interview with Little Mix.

Celebrity Gogglebox star Roman has been given permission by bosses at Global to take immediate leave following the tragic news.
A spokesperson for Capital FM said: “We can confirm that Rob Howard and Lauren Layfield will host Capital Breakfast for the rest of this week.”
It’s expected that Roman, Sian and Sonny will return to the show in the coming weeks.

Roman, who is the son of singers Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman transformed the famous breakfast show and frequently pulls in an average of four million listeners.
The godson of George Michael took over the show from George Shelley, Lilah Parsons and Dave Berry back in May 2017 alongside Vick Hope and Sonny.
Since becoming a household name, Roman went on to compete on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and instantly became a bigger hit with the nation.
Roman and Spandau Ballet star dad, Martin recently launched their own show Martin and Roman’s Sunday Best on ITV.
The Sunday morning show sees the iconic duo interviewing fellow celebs and taking part in various challenges.
