Friends' Matthew Perry 'has always been in love' with co-star Courteney Cox

Friends duo Chandler Bing and Monica Geller were last seen strolling off into the sunset for a life in the suburbs 16 years ago.

The duo, played by Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox, were seen as the power couple, but according to reports, their on-screen romance could have tipped into real life.

Matthew, who turned 51 today, has reportedly been been harbouring deep feelings for his co-star since the show ended back in 2004.

Actress Courteney, 56, was married to Scream actor David Arquette towards the end of the Friends days until they split in October 2010.

The Cougar Town star has since found love with Snow Patrol guitarist Johnny McDaid and the couple have been dating since 2013.

During her brief split from Johnny in 2015, it was reported that Courteney turned to Matthew for support.

A source told Perez Hilton at the time: “It’s no surprise that Matthew was one of the first people Courteney called after Johnny left her.

“They’ve leaned on each other before.

“There isn’t any pressure to put a label on it just yet, but they’re excited to see where this might go.”

The pair slammed rumours and Courtney reunited with Johnny and Matthew dated Molly Hurwitz for two years before they went their separate ways.

However, despite pals slamming the claims, according to other sources, Matthew’s feelings for Courteney still run deep.

A source told US Weekly last year: “Matthew’s always been in love with her.

“Matthew has never fully been able to get over her.”

Meanwhile, Matthew isn’t the only Friends star Courteney has been linked to since the series came to an end.

Fans went wild after the bombshell was spotted sharing a friendly smooch with Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey Tribbiani, outside of The Sunset Tower in Los Angeles after the NBC reunion.

The pair were spotted chatting outside of the restaurant at the end of the night before being joined by co-star Jennifer Aniston, who plays Rachel Green.

While their characters never actually got together on-screen, in a flashback episode in series three, it was revealed Monica had a crush on Joey when he first moved in across the hall with Chandler.
