GMB's Alex Beresford to be 'set up' with Love Island's Amy Hart

Kate Garraway shared that she was going to help orchestrate a romance for her Good Morning Britain co-star Alex Beresford on today’s programme.

The presenting veteran, 53, said she was going to set up the GMB weatherman, 39, and Love Island star Amy Hart, 27.

It comes after Amy bemoaned that she followed her “favourite crush” on social media, but he failed to reciprocate and follow her back.

The conversation about Kate potentially needing to play matchmaker came after she quizzed him on whether he was using Tinder amid claims a fraudulent account had been set up under his name.

Alex Beresford is Amy Hart’s crush

After Alex shared that he wasn’t on any dating apps, a cheeky Kate shared that he did have an admirer in Amy, who had admitted he was her “favourite crush” during an interview with Online Casinos.

Kate shared: “You’re already very popular, Alex – and Amy Hart, absolutely gorgeous girl, came forward to say you are her favourite crush.”

Alex then intercepted and said: “Apparently she followed me on Instagram a few days ago and she’s upset that I didn’t follow her back, so maybe I’ll go on Instagram right now…”

A giddy Kate then enthused: “So Amy, you’re watching, he’s going to get in touch – that’s exciting!”

Alex appeared flustered after Kate’s accidental innuendo, and said: “Am I? I said that I was going to follow her, I didn’t say I was going to slide in, Kate!”

Kate then attempted to clarify her comments and said: “You weren’t going to slide into the DMs?”

Alex then apologised and added: “Oh hello – it’s all getting very exciting, I’m getting all hot and bothered!”

In June, Alex revealed he had split from wife Natalia, who is the mother to his son Cruz, despite “desperately trying to make things work”.
