Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent replacement has been announced

Simon Cowell ‘s Britain’s Got Talent replacement has been announced.

It was announced yesterday that Simon, 60, would miss the finals of the ITV show after breaking back in three places after falling off an electric bicycle earlier this month.

And his stand-in has now been announced.

Simon has confirmed that Diversity and Dancing on Ice judge Ashley Banjo will replace him and join fellow BGT judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.

Ashley, 31, found fame on BGT back in 2009 where he, along with his dance troupe Diversity.

They beat off tough competition at the time from Susan Boyle and saxophonist Julian Smith to win series three of the talent competition.

Ashley will now have the chance to be judge on the show as he fills in for Simon while he recovers from his back surgery in LA.

Simon told The Sun on Sunday: “Ashley will be a fantastic addition to the panel. He knows the power of the show and the responsibility of it.

“I couldn’t think of a better person to sit in my seat whilst I follow doctor’s orders. I hate that stupid bike.”

Ashley said he’s thrilled to be given the honour of filling in for Simon.

He told the publication: “Walking on that stage as a 20-year-old street dancer from East London and now I am walking out there and stepping in for the big man.

“It feels really nice, almost poetic.”
