Strictly's Len Goodman undergoes surgery to have skin cancer growth removed

Len Goodman has had a skin cancer operation to remove a growth from his forehead.

The Strictly Come Dancing legend, 76, had the operation earlier this month to remove a lump, and is now using his voice to raise awareness about the disease.

Len has been pictured wearing a bandage covering the wound, after the procedure was seemingly a success.

The keen golfer posed for a social media snap on behalf of skin cancer charity, the Melanoma Fund’s Slip! Slap! Swing! Sun Protection Campaign for Golf.

In the photograph, Len pointed to his injury on his head while sporting a white cap.

He wore the hat as he got ready to play some golf, promoting sun protection in the sport.

The image was shared on the Melanoma Fund’s Facebook page, along with the caption: “[Len Goodman] has asked us to keep ‘spreading the word’ re. sun protection for golf via our Slip! Slap! Swing! campaign.

“Len revealed he has just had skin cancer removed and wanted us to use this image to inspire others to take the issue seriously!”

Len reportedly doesn’t need any further treatment following his operation to remove the lump, according to The Sun on Sunday.

A source close to Len told the publication: “Len is recovering well.

“It was obviously a shock but he didn’t waste any time in getting it treated.

“He is now urging fans to wear sun lotion, especially as the weather has been so hot, and to check any moles they’re worried about with a doctor.”

Len was adored by fans for being the head judge on Strictly Come Dancing from its inception in 2004 until 2016.

He now appears on Dancing With The Stars, the US version of the dancing competition.
