Tipping Point host Ben Shephard couldn’t help but brand one contestant’s move as “brutal” on today’s episode, as he missed out on a major win.
Scottish player Malcy dropped his counter through drop zone number one, leaving a pile of profitable double counters teetering on the edge.
Unfortunately, he failed to tip the counters into the slot, meaning he was left with zero pounds – setting another player up for a win.
Drawing in a breath, Ben looked floored by Malcy’s bad luck, as he exclaimed: “Brutal for you Malcy, you’ve set it up nicely.
“But you stay with nothing in the bank.”
The other contestants failed to hide their excitement, as they scrambled to answer the next question correctly in a bid to steal Malcy’s pile of counters.
Player Leary was the lucky victor, as he was chosen as the next contestant to drop a counter into the machine.
Ben announced: “You got that right just in time Leary.”
Fellow player Ali made it clear she was feeling a little jealous, as she sarcastically wondered which drop zone he would choose.
She snipped: “Drop zone one I think…”
Leary proved successful, racking up hundreds in the bank as Malcy watched on in disappointment, having lost out big time.
Despite his disappointment, Malcy battled valiantly to make it through to the final, competing against Leary in the semi-finals.
Unfortunately, with £1,600 in the bank, Leary proved too difficult to beat, and the Scot was sent home empty-handed.
Praising his performance, Ben consoled: “You’ve done everything you can this round Malcy you’ve given us some cracking answers.”
Luckily, Malcy was awarded an indoor skydiving experience as a consolation prize, easing his defeat.
Proving a good loser, Malcy said: “I’ve had a great day thank you.”
Tipping Point airs on weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
