The Chase interrupted by major technical blunder – leaving viewers raging

The Chase was interrupted during Thursday’s broadcast due to a technical error, with viewers struggling to watch it.

Viewers took to social media to air their frustrations after the episode continued to suffer glitches, before ITV went completely down for lots of viewers tuning in.

It was unclear where the source of the problem was, but fans watching on Sky and Virgin both experienced technical difficulties.

Twitter users took to the website, fuming that they were missing their favourite show.

One said: “@ITV your channel is not working properly during @ITVChase.”

While another wrote: “Anyone else STV went on the blink? Ruining #TheChase here.”

A third added: “First time I sit down to watch #TheChase in yonks and #ITV has lost signal on sky… 2020 really is taking the piss.”

“Not getting a satellite signal anymore. Why did they have to turn off the analog signal”, penned another viewer.

Despite the episode being a repeat, fans were desperate for the signal to work again as they didn’t want to miss any of the quizzing action.

Another fan tweeted: “Dear @SkyHelpTeam your signal’s down the swanny! Please fix as I don’t want to miss any of the #TheChase.”

“Ahhhhhhh!!! Signals gone”, exclaimed a sixth.

And another remarked: “Not just Sky, Virgin’s signal keeps freezing too, s***ty thing.”

Luckily the signal was soon back to normal, with fans able to watch the four players take on the chaser Shaun Wallace once more.

Fans were thrilled to see Mandy bag the high offer of £56,000.

This meant the pair were playing for a grand total of £60k in the tense final chase.

Unfortunately the team of two only managed to answer nine questions correctly, leaving Shaun, known as The Dark Destroyer, with an easy win.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
