Ed Sheeran has become a father – announcing the news of his baby girl.
The 29-year-old singer took to his Instagram page to share the news with fans today.
The star shared a photo of a tiny pair of socks as he announced the news.
He wrote: “Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you…
“Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.

“We are completely in love with her.
“Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.”
Ed concluded: “We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.”
Fans and friends rushed to the post to congratulate the star on the birth, with the post racking up thousands of likes within minutes.
One wrote: “Omg congratulations!!! I pray your wife and baby are perfectly well and healthy. God bless you and your new precious little girl Ed!! All our best!!”
While another added: “Congratulations Ed and Cherry.”

Ed and Cherry, 28, have been married since 2018.
The news of Cherry’s pregnancy was revealed back in August after the couple kept their baby joy a secret during lockdown.
The couple’s baby joy comes after Ed announced a break from music last Christmas, following two-and-a-half years on the road.
