Love Island's Curtis Pritchard thanks fat-shamers as he unveils weight loss

Curtis Pritchard flaunted his weight loss transformation and bizarrely thanked trolls for getting him “into shape”.

The Love Island star, 24, who is Maura Higgins’ ex-boyfriend, was cruelly taunted for his weight when he appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2019 – which saw him come third with Maura.

He confessed he gained weight while in the villa but the star didn’t do a thing to deserve the horrific online bullying which was sent his way.

After he left the show the online abuse sadly continued as his Instagram following soared up to 1.4million followers so did the number of abusive comments.

Since leaving the villa, Curtis signed up for WW, formerly Weight Watchers, and has been healthily losing the weight he gained in the villa while sunbathing all day.

Celebrating the end of his first year on the diet program, Curtis revealed in the post that he is now a gold member.

Speaking on his new lifestyle, he told Metro.co.uk how he has always been focused on his body but not in the right way.

He told the publication: “I’ve always been focused on my diet and body. I haven’t always been focused on it in the correct way, that was the problem.”

He continued: “And then going into Love Island, putting on a lot of weight and coming out again and being fat-shamed, it was really the perfect time to become an ambassador for Weight Watchers and join the family.”

Curtis went on to say that it wasn’t “nice” to come out of the villa and see so many comments of people fat-shaming him.

Speaking on how he felt seeing the comments at first, he said: “On a truthful note it isn’t nice to say something nasty about someone.

“It isn’t nice to do and be on the receiving end. But you know what, look at me now.”

Curtis continued: “I’m so positive and confident in how I look and feel now, I thank them for what they did because they really made you focus and this relationship came together with Weight Watchers.

“I’m an ambassador and part of the family now so I can only say thank you to them because it changed the way I am.

“But obviously it’s not nice when that stuff happens and I would never wish that on anyone.”
