It’s the end of an era – after almost 14 years and 20 seasons, Keeping Up with the Kardashians is coming to a close.
Kim announced the news on Instagram last night, revealing it was a decision they made ‘as a family’ although she refused to elaborate on the reason.
However, it’s an issue that has been brewing for months – if not years.
The first outward sign of trouble came when Kim and big sister Kourtney, 41, got into a violent brawl earlier this year that left Kim with bloody scratches on her arm and her make-up smeared on the wall.
Tensions exploded after Kourtney started making noises about quitting the series, and the fight was so brutal that for the first time ever, filming had to be shut down for a week.

The issue, claimed Kim, was that Kourtney refused to make an actual decision and was instead turning up to work with an ‘attitude’ and ‘taking it out on everyone’.
And things finally came to a head when their little sister Kylie Jenner, 23, dropped out of a Balmain fashion show due to illness and Kim accused her siblings – apart from Khloe, 36 – of not pulling their weight.
“If I were on my deathbed, I would still show up,” she raged.
“Mom is so used to me and Khloe going on our deathbeds…”

But her comments sent a defensive Kourtney into a blind rage.
“You act like I don’t do s***. You have this narrative in your mind,” she shouted. And when Kim laughed, the threats got serious.
“I will literally f*** you up if you mention it again. Literally, shut the f*** up and don’t laugh like that,” Kourtney screamed, insisting she works her ‘f***ing ass off’.
Defending her right to be a stay-at-home mum to her three kids, the seething star then hurled a bottle of water at Kim, who tried to land a punch.

“Don’t ever come at me like that… Don’t ever dig your nails into me like that. How old are you?” Kim raged as Kourtney sniped: “I don’t want to be near your fat ass.”
Following the shocking scenes that left their mum Kris Jenner in tears, Kourtney officially quit, telling fans she was done with being famous.
“I don’t like being a celebrity. I’m taking a break from the show. Now I can focus on me and plan my time of being a mum,” she said.
“I want to be fulfilled and happy – life is too short.”

According to reports, by the end the family was split down the middle with only Kim, Khloe and Kris Jenner making any real contribution to the show while model Kendall, 24, was often away working; Kylie, 23, never enjoyed doing it anyway and Rob, 33, walked away a long time ago.
Furthermore, sources have claimed there was bitter resentment between the siblings – in particular with Kim and Kourtney.
They really don’t hate each other,” a source told The Sun, “[but] sometimes they do fight because Kourtney is jealous Kim is more successful.”
Kourtney has promised to address the news once she has ‘gathered her thoughts’ while Khloe hinted that when the final decision was taken, it was a unanimous one.
“Change is hard but also needed at times,” she wrote. “I love you all. Thank you for the memories!”
