Gavin & Stacey writer Ruth Jones has hinted we could get another reunion special – but we may have to wait a fair while.
The BBC favourite broke records with its Christmas special in 2019 – the first new episode of the show for nine years.
So when Ruth, who played Vanessa “Nessa” Jenkins in the series, appeared on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp this morning, she was unsurprisingly asked whether we could see the lovable gang once more.
“Who knows?” she replied. “It took us 10 years to come back. It might take us another 10 if we come back.”
Ruth previously said on Lorraine she had no imminent plans to bring the show back, given how it has been impossible to write with co-star James Corden during the coronavirus pandemic.

“It is not possible at the moment with him in America, and there are not any plans but who knows?” she asked.
But while she didn’t confirm a reunion was in the schedule, she didn’t rule it out either on Capital today.
Speaking of the Christmas special, she added: “It was a lovely experience. We kept it all so secret that we were writing this special because we wanted to enjoy the moment.

“We put it on [James Corden’s] Twitter account saying ‘We’ve got something to tell you’, and a picture of the script. It just lifted people’s spirits because it’s a bit of silliness.”
Fans have been calling for another episode of the hit comedy after last year’s special ended on a cliffhanger.
Nessa was seen proposing to James’ Smithy, but the scene finished before we found out whether he said “yes”.
Tune into Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, weekdays from 6am – 10am across the UK.
