Emmerdale fans have predicted Cain Dingle and Harriet Finch are about to spark up a steamy love affair, after he consoled her during this evening’s episode.
The two have a romantic history, but have since moved on with different partners, becoming nothing more than friends.
Harriet currently has a strained relationship with boyfriend Will Taylor, while Cain is recently separated from his wife Moira Dingle.
However, after watching this evening’s episode, fans were convinced the two were about to fall for one another yet again.
Cain happened across Harriet in the church, sobbing in one of the pews over DI Malone’s recent death.
He was quick to comfort her, as she kept Malone’s death a secret whilst hinting she was upset about the bent copper’s recent threats.

Over on Twitter, one wrote: “Oh please tell me we’re not putting Harriet and Cain back together! God helps us!”
A second added: “I just want Cain to get back with Harriet.”
“The Coira fan in me regrets to inform you all that I adore Cain and Harriet scenes and still root for them,” chimed a second.

Though Cain has no idea Dawn Taylor murdered Malone, he confided in Harriet that he suspected Malone was six feet under.
He said: “He’s just disappeared. Even the police, they got no trace of him.
“Everyone thinks he’s crossed the wrong fella this time.”
Cain then hinted he understood Harriet’s relationship with Malone, subtly referring to her sordid affair with the policeman.

He added: “I hope you said your goodbyes because I don’t think you’re going to be seeing him ever again.”
