Cruel Jeremy Clarkson death hoax sparks fan fury as sick jokes trend online

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire host Jeremy Clarkson has been the latest celebrity victim of a social media death hoax, with Twitter being flooded by a number of posts about the star passing away.

The star, who has been presenting a new series of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on ITV, even had his Wikipedia page changed to say that he had died on Thursday September 10 2020.

Not only that, there were several cruel jokes made online, with bizarre theories being shared about his death, including “catching super tuberculosis from having sex with badgers” and “nibbled to death by a hamster”.

After seeing the hashtag #RIPJeremyClarkson trending on Twitter, fans rushed to the platform to ask if it was true.

A third chipped in: “It’s disgraceful to joke about someone’s death, whether fond of him or not.”

A fourth said: “Stop giving us f*****g heart-attacks with this s**t #RIPJeremyClarkson (He’s not dead).”

Many also asked Jeremy to come forward to put the rumours to bed, but the star is yet to publicly say anything.

This isn’t the first time the TV presenter has been at the centre of death fears, as his followers panicked after noticing he hadn’t been on social media for a long time.

Speaking out in July this year, Jeremy was forced to put minds at ease as he clarified he’s “not dead” despite not being online.
