Emmerdale viewers were furious at Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) during this evening’s trip to the dales, as she launched a verbal attack on Amy.
Many fans of the soap couldn’t understand why Tracy had suddenly decided to make Amy’s life a living hell one year after her father’s death, calling the timing of the attack into question.
Amy and Kerry Wyatt accidentally killed Tracy’s father, Frank Clayton, in the horrific factory fire last year, as he failed to escape the explosion.
Kerry (Laura Norton) led the cover-up along with daughter Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson), pinning the arson on Frank because of his death in the blaze.
At the time, Tracy decided against going to the police, fearing she would be put behind bars for a separate hit and run incident.
However, on this evening’s episode, Tracy forbid Amy from starting a relationship with Matty and threatened to tell him about Frank’s manslaughter.
Amy’s date with Matty in the pub proved disastrous, as Tracy’s cruel jeering forced her to flee the boozer and cut the night short.
Cornering her on the street, Tracy yelled: “It’s only been a year since my dad died in an explosion from a fire that you started!”
Amy replied: “You know I will never forgive myself for that but what do you want us to do. You and Vanessa, you said you weren’t going to take things any further.”

Justifying the attack, Amy said: “Yes, that was before you were flaunting yourself in my face.”
Over on Twitter, viewers were confused, as they wondered why Tracy had suddenly taken it upon herself to ruin Amy’s life, so long after the fire.
One said: “Tracy should have done something at the start, there’s no point in starting on Amy now.”
A second added: “Tracy grow up.. she’s doing my head in now.. why didn’t you go to the police a year ago?? Why’s she becoming so annoying.. I’m on Amy’s side here..”

“Frank’s death storyline was handled so poorly. The fact that Tracy & Vanessa never reported Amy & Kerry for the factory fire just because they were scared they’d report Tracy for running out of her house to escape them and accidentally knocked Kerry over. Ridiculous #Emmerdale,” chimed a third.
And a fourth wrote: “So because Tracy is jealous she’s now remembered Amy killed her dad?”
Emmerdale airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
