Chris Hemsworth gatecrashes live weather forecast as he takes over from host

Hollywood favourite Chris Hemsworth brightened up the day for thousands of viewers when he interrupted a live weather forecast on television.

The Marvel actor, 37, showed up at the Australian breakfast show Weekend Today when weather reporter Lauren Philips was delivering the forecast in a field in Scone of New South Wales.

During the segment, Lauren was reading the weather bulletin when the Thor star reeled in from the background and eventually took Lauren’s microphone and delivered the weather report.

Hosts Richard Wilkinson and Rebecca Maddern were left speechless when they saw Chris appearing in the programme.

Reading from the handout, Chris said: “Hello to all my friends in Melbourne. I am a Victorian. But that rain, get your brollies out I reckon.

“Perth, sunny 19, Geraldton mostly sunny, mostly that means there’s going to be no sun at some point. Karratha 36, heating up slip slop slap.”

Lauren appeared to be pleased with his work and said: “You’ve made my job look very easy there, you might just have to take over.”

Chris revealed that he is currently in the area visiting his friends who are working on some conservation work at Aussie Ark and WildArk.

Lauren then explained to the actor that no one in the studio knew he was coming on and they thought it was an interview with “a rogue horse”.

“I am a bit like a rogue horse,” he said. “I’m going to escape here at some point and you will have to lasso me.”

As the segment ended, Lauren told Chris he was booked and would be expected at the same time tomorrow.

“You lost your job! Sorry, I’m only available for the next 35 seconds,” he quipped as he galloped off-screen.
