Boxer Nicola Adams will be the first female Strictly Come Dancing contestant “not to wear a dress”, according to reports.
The 37-year-old Olympic gold medallist is said to have asked to perform each week on the show wearing trouser suits as she stars in the BBC programme’s first same-sex couple.
A source told The Sun: “Anyone who knows Nicola will be aware that her wardrobe consists of jeans and trousers so it would be really unnatural for her to wear a dress.
“As far as the Strictly bosses are concerned, it’s a personal choice and they want her to feel comfortable taking part.

“The costume department is famous for pulling out all the stops and thinking outside the box.
“They’ve got lots of ideas for themes and will be sure to incorporate some sparkle into her trouser suits.
“Nicola knows sequins come as part of the Strictly package.
“She is more than grateful that the producers are making her feel relaxed.”
Nicola, who is dating 22-year-old model Ella Baig, said earlier this month that she insisted on being paired with a female professional dancer.

She explained: “They wanted to know if I wanted to be on the show and I said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do it, but I want to dance with another female.’
“It’s really important, and it’s a big step for the show as well.
“It’s nice to see that we’re able to move on.
“I just can’t wait to get some dancing done.”
The official Strictly start date hasn’t been revealed yet, but the dancing competition is expected to kick off on Saturday, October 24.

That is a month later than usual, as BBC bosses felt the delay was necessary to ensure complete safety and social distancing while shooting.
A source told The Sun: “BBC bosses are doing everything in their power to give the public as much Strictly as they can and safely.
“A heavily reduced schedule gives them a lot longer to pre-record certain segments to minimise risk.
“It does mean it will be stating much later in the year, and will finish very close to Christmas with the final currently scheduled for December 19.”
