Piers Morgan brands Boris Johnson a 'beaten man' who is 'on the way out' as PM

Piers Morgan said that Boris Johnson seems to be a “beaten man” and that he’s “on the way out” as Prime Minister.

During Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, Piers slammed Boris as he said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if he quit.

Piers said: “The Spectator buried him, The Telegraph buried him, The Times did an extraordinary piece saying he wants to be back with his ex wife, he is suffering from financial difficulties, he isn’t earning enough money for his various families.

“He is lonely, he is ill.”

He went on: “It would not surprise me if Boris quit, there is no win for him here, everything is a loss and it’s piling up.

“He looks to me like a beaten guy, and this country needs more right now.

“This country needs rallying, it needs clear consistent and firm leadership, and it needs someone who doesn’t look like he’s a beaten man.”

Piers and his GMB co-host Susanna Reid also discussed a YouGov that showed voters thought Labour leader Keir Starmer would make a better Prime Minister.

They also voted “don’t know” as a better option than Boris Johnson.

Piers said that these results indicate Boris is “on the way out”.

“I think the excuse machine has run out, look at Angela Merkel, she hasn’t had one tenth of the issues he has had and how cack-handed this has been done,” said Piers.

During Tuesday’s episode of GMB, things turned frosty between Piers and Edwina Currie who was on the show to discuss the coronavirus update.

Morgan was asking the 73-year-old former politician what she thought of the government’s prediction that Covid-19 cases could hit 50,000 a day.

Edwina was getting impatient with Piers’ lengthy questioning as she interrupted him: “Can I get in here?

“We have a limited amount of time, give me an opportunity to answer.”

Piers shot back: “We have as long Susanna and I decide you have…”

As Piers was asking her the question, Edwina interrupted yet again as she said “come on” while tapping her watch with her finger.

Piers was raging as he told her: “Edwina don’t be annoying. Seriously.

“I don’t know why you always pride yourself in being irritating when you come on because there’s no point. Just wait for the question.”
