ABBA have reportedly reunited to honour their 50th anniversary, regrouping in London for a one-off recording session.
The Swedish supergroup, made up of Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, officially split back in 1983.
Ahead of their golden anniversary in 2022, the band is said to be working on a “hologram” reunion tour for their fans.
According to The Sun, the Scandi superstars headed to Ealing Studios in West London to record new music for the concert.
A music insider reportedly told the publication: “ABBA have kept everything about their reunion shrouded in mystery but this has really been a long time coming.
“They announced the tour in 2016 and although it’s been a slog to get to this point, it is now full steam ahead and the show is taking shape.

“Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Frida have all recorded bits and pieces and they have enjoyed taking a trip down memory lane with it all.”
Instead of touring as a foursome, the band has reportedly decided to craft an “interactive” gig for fans in two years time.
The source continued: “They are all getting a nice cheque out of it, so it will be worthwhile, but they’ve got more than enough money from their music, so it’s not about that.
“All four of them just wanted to give back to their fans, so they have done everything in their power to fly into London for the filming, despite the travel restrictions.”

The rumours come after the group promised five new tracks, making music together for the first time since the early 80s.
Having transformed the world of disco with tracks such as Dancing Queen and Voulez Vous, the Mamma Mia creators have guaranteed a fresh wave of music is on the horizon.
Speaking to PA two years ago, Bjorn said: “One of them is a pop tune, very danceable. The other is more timeless, more reflective, that is all I will say.
“It is Nordic sad, but happy at the same time.”

In July, writer Geoff Lloyd confirmed ABBA had music in the pipelines, as he discussed their new jingles on the Reasons To Be Cheerful podcast.
He said: “I got to spend an hour […] with Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA via Zoom. He’s quarantining – he’s got an island in the Stockholm archipelago.
“They’ve recorded five new songs. They should have been out at the end of last year.”
