Piers Morgan makes brutal dig at Rebekah Vardy in savage Dancing on Ice swipe

Rebekah Vardy was quick to respond to Piers Morgan when he made a cheeky dig at her on Tuesday morning.

The 38-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain via video link as it was revealed she will be a contestant on the 2021 series of Dancing on Ice.

Introducing Rebekah, Piers said: “Someone you would least expect to be putting on skates and tackling the ice..”

The camera then cut to Rebekah sitting in her car as she admitted she was in the middle of doing the school run.

“What on earth has possessed you to put on a pair of skates and expose your ice dancing talent to the world,” he asked her.

“Oh I know I think I just want everyone to laugh at me really,” Rebekah replied.

“My dad taught me how to stand up on a pair of skates when I was about seven-years-old, we used to go skating a lot when my mum and dad split up, we would go with him to the local ice rink.

“I’m really excited, actually. I go ice skating at Christmas, actually, with the kids.

“That is the only time I have been ice skating since – I take the kids and we have a really good time.”

Piers then joked: “Well you are good at skating on thin ice, aren’t you?”

Laughing at his comment, Rebekah quipped back: “That is rich coming from you!”

Luckily Piers found her response hilarious and asked her: “What does Jamie think of it?”

Rebekah is the wife of Leicester City star Jamie, who netted a hat-trick versus Manchester City at the weekend in a 5-2 victory.

“He thinks it’s such a brilliant idea. He hopes I don’t fall over too much!” she answered.

“I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into that and get going with it. I’m going to give 100 per cent effort throughout. And I hopefully won’t knock my Shergar teeth out,” she said.

Rebekah’s Dancing on Ice news comes after she vowed that she would clear her name ahead of her looming High Court battle with Coleen Rooney, after being accused of selling stories about her, which she vehemently denies.

The brunette will start training for the ITV show in “a couple of weeks” and no doubt it will take her mind off of the drama she’s had with Coleen.

Referring to her High Court battle with Coleen, she told Piers and Susanna that she’s determined to clear her name.

“Look, we tried to sort things out amicably, it just didn’t work. I understand people think it’s ridiculous, but what was I meant to do? I need to clear my name,” she explained.

“I want to clear my name. I will do whatever that takes. I hope it’s going to be resolved soon. It’s just one of the things that has to go through the process unfortunately now.

“I found it really tough. But to be fair Piers, in comparison to what some people have gone through with COVID and things like that, it’s incomparable.”
