BGT star Amanda Holden leads tributes to Chrissy Teigen after tragic baby death

Amanda Holden has lead tributes to Chrissy Teigen after the US TV host took to social media to heartbreakingly confirm the passing of her’s and John Legend’s new born son Jack.

Chrissy, 34, bravely shared a series of images on Instagram from inside the hospital alongside an emotional statement.

Amanda, 49, commented on Chrissy’s brave post – reflecting on how she coped with the still birth of her own son in 2011.

Amanda replied to a message from a fan who told Chrissy that her little one is now watching over her.

Supporter Joe Fahed wrote: “In Lebanese culture we believe babies like Jack are angels that God selectively chooses to watch over you. Sending you light.”

Amanda responded: “This is how I dealt with my loss x.”

The Heart Radio Breakfast host has spoken frankly about the brith of her stillborn son Theo.

Previously recalling the tragic birth, Amanda said: “I wanted to be awake so I had an epidural. But I was absolutely terrified of holding him.

“I couldn’t bear the thought of holding a dead baby.

“I was scared what he’d look like. But the minute he came out, Jackie took him and said ‘He’s beautiful’.

“So I said: ‘Give him to me. I’m his mummy'”.

She added: “He had the most incredible eyebrows and lots of thick dark hair.

“He was nearly 3lbs, so perfectly viable, and his little face and body were perfect.

“Chris and I just talked to him and my tears fell on his face.”

Posting to Instagram on Thursday morning, Chrissy also recalled her traumatic birth.

Alongside black and white images from the hospital, the starlet said: “We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before.

“We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.”

Chrissy added: “We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us.

“Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”
