Britain’s best-loved actor Brian Blessed has revealed his wife first beat cancer, and then the coronavirus this year, in a miraculous story of resilience.
The Flash Gordon actor opened up in a chat with the Daily Star which will be published tomorrow.
The loudmouth actor told how he felt that the world will beat coronavirus after seeing his actress wife Hildegarde Neil overcome her two huge health challenges.
Brian, 83, said: “I think we are gonna make it. There is too much doom and gloom. My wife Hildegarde Neil. She had cancer at the beginning of the year, she had gone into recession, she beat that, then she got Covid, then beat Covid.
“Then after that, it weakened her heart and she has mastered that. She is out shopping now and she is walking the dog and she is 81. No for god’s sake we are going to make it. This Covid will pass on, it will die.”

The burly thespian, 83, also told of his dislike of Donald Trump and admiration of Boris Johnson after beating Covid-19.
He said: “He nearly died then guy. He had it badly and he behaved with grace and passion and made it creative to help other people.
“Not like that t*t Trump – he should be bottled and thrown into some bloody volcano or s******d sideways by some universal dinosaur.”

Brian also told how he would destroy Russian president Vladimir Putin in a fight.
He said: “I always wanted to maybe challenge him on judo because me being a blackbelt even though I am 84 would take him apart – I would love to take him on.”
Brian revealed that he thought orangutans fancy him due to his rugged looks and burly frame.
He said: “I do a lot of work with orangutans, I’ve saved orangutans I’ve been to Malaysia, a guest of his excellency there. The orangutans all fancy me – they think I’m gorgeous. I mean they think I’m an ape.
“I think the important thing ladies and gentlemen is that when you wake up in the morning you look in the mirror I do and I love myself.
“I look in the mirror and I think by god that’s a handsome man. I’m a cross between a yeti and a gorilla, I love the way I look. I wouldn’t want to be thin and this and scrawny, I like looking like a white gorilla.
“When I meet orangutans, they think I’m one of them and gorillas are the same. Female gorillas find me very sexy.”
The veteran actor also gave his thoughts on the Big Bang Theory, saying he believed in the literal breath of God.
He said he thought the universe was created from the breath of Hindu god Brahma after he “breathed in and then breathed out the scent of a lotus flower”.
