Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid confirm GMB break just weeks after summer holiday

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have confirmed they will be taking another break from Good Morning Britain, just weeks after their return from their summer holidays.

Confirming the two weeks off, Piers, 55, said: “We’ve got half term off, really exciting, I’m going to move from the sofa downstairs to upstairs for my holiday.”

Susanna, 49, told viewers: “You get a two-week circuit breaker from us.”

However it wasn’t all bad news, as Piers revealed they would be back for an entire week upon their return.

He said: “The good news is, because I know you’ll be missing us, we’ll be back for the US election week, and we’ll be there all week, all five days.”

With the ongoing pandemic and travel restrictions in mind, Susanna quickly added: “When you say ‘there’, we’re not going to be there, we’re going to be very much here.”

Piers went on: “Last time we were on the roof in the middle of the two hotels, parted by less than a mile, Hillary Clinton in one and Donald Trump in the other.”

He explained: “The reason we’re coming in all week is, I don’t think it’ll be over on the first night, I think we’re going to be in for a bit of a run.”

The duo shared a look back at their announcement that Donald Trump had been elected as US President back in 2016.

In the throwback clip, Susanna looked seriously unimpressed, not showing any sort of emotion as Piers shared the news that shocked many.

This year, on November 3, will be the 59th presidential election in the US.

Republican Donald Trump will battle to keep his place in the White House against Democratic Joe Biden.

It is considered one of the most consequential election in modern times, given the varying opinions on how well things such as the Covid-19 pandemic has been handles in the States.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
