Amanda Holden's BGT 'nipple dress' sparked Piers Morgan to make Ofcom complaint

Piers Morgan told his friend Amanda Holden that he filed a complaint with Ofcom over her racy dress on Britain’s Got Talent, which sparked a heavy backlash from viewers.

Amanda sparked over 200 Ofcom complains after viewers claimed that her plunging blue dress was showing off her nipples.

Speaking about the complaints, Piers told Amanda on her Heart Radio show today that he was one of the people who had contacted Ofcom.

He said: “I was one of those people who complained to Ofcom about your dress.

“But I only complained because I thought that you were wearing too many clothes.”

After showing off her cleavage in the plunging dress, Amanda was forced to defend herself and deny that her nipples were on show, revealing she was wearing a corset.

The following week, she donned a seriously racy purple and lace gown which looked like underwear, risking total exposure to already outraged viewers.

However, the BGT head judge did cover up for the finale of the 2020 series, wearing an off-the-shoulder sparkly gold dress.

Amanda looked gorgeous in the show-stopping outfit as she covered up her assets under the flimsy material while sat alongside Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Ashley Banjo.

Speaking about the viewer backlash, Amanda appeared on Loose Women to admit how baffled she was by the attention her assets got.

She said: “Fashion does not have an age limit …

“It drives me mad that these nearly 50 year old boobs get all the attention when I’m sat next to Alesha Dixon who is ten years younger and who wears loads of things down here!”

She added: “I just think I reach a big round number next year and these things are going to start dropping off.

“And so they’ll drop out of the news so enjoy it while it lasts.”

GMB continues on Monday at 6am on ITV.
